Year 3 and 4's Mini Residential Adventure
Lea Green and School Sleepover Experience for Year 3 and 4
Earlier this month Year 3 and 4 had their first taste of going on a residential - but with a difference! The children enjoyed a full day of activities at Lea Green Outdoors Centre, including a stream walk, low-ropes, obstacle courses, orienteering, and a play in the spring sunshine. Afterwards they came back to school by bus for a Forest School session with our very own Mrs Booker, who put on a campfire with toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate. There was takeaway pizza and salad for tea, before getting into pyjamas and snuggling into sleeping bags in the classrooms for a school sleepover. Up bright and early the next morning for breakfast and a play in the playground before most of the world had woken up!
This was the first time that we have run a school sleepover, and it was a brilliant event. The younger juniors really benefitted from the familiar surroundings of school; for some children this was their first night away from home. Huge thanks to Lea Green, the pizzeria who discounted our pizzas, and the staff who gave up their time to stay with the children. Last but not least, thanks to the children who were just epic throughout!
