The planters look lovely, but are also an extra defence against flooding.   They have been installed all around the school to divert storm water and improve surface drainage.  They will also be a haven for wildlife, and an educational space for children to enjoy caring for the plants.  We are very grateful to Derbyshire County Council who secured this project on our behalf, the Department for Education for providing the SUDS grant, and Rescue 2, the company that installed them so beautifully for us. 

Come and have a look at them for yourself - on the big planter by the front door there is an information board, and clouds that rain on the plants underneath in wet weather!
